FIG. 2 ENGAGEMENT MODELS

Three ways to bring Alan onto the team

MODEL 01

Fractional CPO

Ongoing · 1–3 days / week

Standing product leadership without a full-time executive hire. Alan sets vision, governs the roadmap, and represents product at the board and investor table.

  • Product vision & strategic roadmap
  • Board and investor reporting
  • Coaching for existing PM/product teams
  • Best fit: growth-stage companies
MODEL 02

Interim Director of Product

Full-time · time-boxed, 4–9 mo.

Embedded leadership through a transition, restructuring, or scale-up push — owning delivery, not just advising on it.

  • Owns the backlog & delivery cadence
  • Hires, restructures, and coaches the team
  • Reports directly to CEO / board
  • Best fit: leadership gaps & turnarounds
MODEL 03

Product Advisory & Workshops

Project-based · sprints & audits

Focused engagements for a specific decision: a roadmap audit, an AI-readiness assessment, or a prioritization framework built with your team.

  • Roadmap & portfolio audits
  • AI-readiness & operations assessments
  • MIT-based prioritization workshops
  • Best fit: a single, well-scoped decision

FIG. 5 THE APPLICANT

Alan started as an electronics and telecommunications engineer and filed his first patents — on mobile devices and mobility technology — before he ever wrote a product roadmap. The two decades since have been spent turning that same instinct — build the smallest thing that proves the point — into a product-leadership discipline that has run inside KPMG's banking practice in Hong Kong, Walmart and Sam's Club in Mexico, a robotics and automation practice built with Brain Corp, Mexico's first BNPL lender, and now a private healthcare platform.

"A working prototype doesn't settle much on its own anymore. AI has mostly answered whether something can be built — the harder question, and the one worth a board's time, is whether it's worth building at all."

That's the lens he brings to every roadmap review: fewer proofs of concept, more proof of value, and a bias toward decisions the business can actually act on. It's also the lens behind his MIT Chief Product Officer certification, completed in 2025.
